Why a Statement?
Why not an application or an interview? Why just a Statement? There's a reason. The Student Trade Justice Campaign is a part of the worldwide movement for trade and economic justice, and as part of that movement, we believe strongly in empowerment and solidarity. We seek to demonstrate that belief not only through the policies we advocate for, but through the way the National Team conducts itself. This Statement of Commitment to Trade Justice is STJC's way of making sure that relationships between National Team members start out right. Evaluating you through some application process is both downright disempowering and diametrically opposed to solidarity. We want to begin with trust, plain and simple. So, all we ask is that you look at our principles and the Statement below. Oh, and your calendar too, because time is always a hot commodity for organizers. If you're not quite sure, please do send an email with your questions! But if you've been through it all and think STJC's National Team is the place for you, don't hesitate: make your Commitment below and join the struggle for justice. | ||
