STJC
National Team: International Partnerships
International Partnerships

International Partnerships works a little differently than the other divisions. While STJC works in collaboration with many different organizations and individuals, International Partnerships does something more specific. Each of the working groups is focused entirely on one specific partner organization that STJC maintains somewhere in the Global South. In an IP working group, you'd be doing two essential things: bringing the voices, experiences and insights of our partners into wider STJC discussions, and working directly on the needs of the partner organization.

We work with different types of organizations: community organizations seeking to empower themselves, development organizations seeking to empower those around them, and advocacy organizations seeking changes in destructive policies domestically and internationally. In all cases, STJC applies the 'listening' principle: both when first building the relationship and throughout, we listen to the needs and problems our partners express, then do our best to organize around the needs they have identified. No collaborative, relationship based on principles of solidarity can be built on anything less.
