Regional Coordinators
As the Student Trade Justice Campaign campus chapter and affiliate base grows it is important that they have personal contact with a member of the National Team on a regular basis so that they are better able to be consistently engaged and active with the national membership. Regional Coordinators will facilitate this process and will also be helpful in facilitating the reverse function; that is keeping the National Team engaged with campuses. Regional Coordinators will first be an at large position and will gradually grow into region specific positions as the campus base grows. The position will be a minimum one year commitment and will fall under the Outreach part of the National Team and thus these coordinators will work closely with the Director of Outreach. They will of course be working directly and interacting regularly with the other members of the National Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Weekly contact via email and telephone with chapters and affiliates
2. Monthly general updates on regional chapter/affiliate activity to general STJC National Team and membership
3. Management and Expansion of regional campus contacts
4. Help facilitate chapter/affiliate advocacy actions on their campuses
5. Monthly input into the STJC Newsletter (mostly just action updates)
6. Represent STJC in your region at relevant events to participate or present materials if needed.
HELPFUL PERSONAL QUALITIES:
1. Able to structure regular STJC work hours for oneีs self to keep up with the work
2. Able to fit in odd hour conference calls and rapid email responses to be accessible for campus contacts and the National Team.
3. Organized work habits that will ensure campus contacts are maintained and thoroughly included in STJC
4. Optimistic view of how students can be effective and vital advocates for change
5. Considerate and patient communication skills both face to face, on calls, and via emails/forums
6. Creative vision for assisting campuses with advocacy actions
